Little Raven was ready to enter this world- 5 weeks early- to her mother’s surprise!!! But she is a healthy beautiful little angel. Thank you for inviting me in during the first days of Raven’s life to capture your sweet newborn baby girl. What a doll!
Again…I must have the opposite effect of sleepy fairy dust- because Raven had no intention of sleeping at all during the two hours I was there to visit.

And this one is for Jim!

And here is a sneak peek of what storyboards can look like.

We have had a wonderful week in Minnesota. The weather has been much cooler than expected, but I love it!
We spent the first portion in the Twin Cities playing in the lakes and visiting family and having fun riding bikes and scooters.

Then Steve and I were able to escape (without the toddler!) for a few days on the North Shore of Lake Superior. It was gorgeous!

Then we headed to the lake cabin. The dogs LOVE it (and so do we!).

Our little one LOVED the boat!

And she even had a blast in the cool weather roasting hot dogs and s’mores over the fire.

What do you do when you have a summer off after 4 years of med school and then 4 years of residency. You make lots of pickles.
Well, no not really. But if you are Auntie Krista you are an over achiever and you try to learn and do all of these fabulous things that you haven’t had any time to do during the last 8 years and that you most likely won’t have time to do when you start with your new practice.
But I have to say we are benefiting from her craftiness…yummy jam (the best I have ever tasted) and I can’t wait to taste the pickles!
Our daughter was quite the helper today. She helped Auntie Krista wash all of the cucumbers and had the best time doing it!
Thanks for all of the terrific goodies Krista and for showing our toddler the ropes of pickle making!

It was such a fun morning in Minneapolis. What a treat…combining work with vacation! I adore going to new places in which I have never shot. You feel as if you have endless ideas because all of the sites are new to you and you see them with fresh eyes.
We enjoyed a beautiful morning around Lake Harriett. What a gorgeous city with so much to offer. I adore Colorado but I sure wish we had more lakes to play in. Thank you so much for spending the morning with me!!

What an unbelievable evening we had. Thank you for taking time out of your summer schedules right before school starts-yikes, I can’t believe it is time already.
What an absolutely gorgeous family. Thank you for tromping through the grass with me (mosquitoes and all!)

A gorgeous sunny day in Vail Colorado- how does it get any better? Add in a radiating bride and a handsome groom and it creates a celebration full of laughter, fun and love! It was another wonderful day of shooting with Laura of L’amour de Vie-thank you again for involving me in another fabulous wedding!
I had a great time photographing Andrew and the guys as they got prepared for the big day.

Anticipation…waiting for the first look.

Does it get any more beautiful? The Larkspur in Golden Peak is a gorgeous venue for a wedding and reception.

Oh how I love newborn photography! They are just so cuddly and TINY! I had the great privilege of meeting little Andrew the other day, what a doll. I must be putting off a vibe that is keeping these darling babes awake because during the last two newborn sessions we tried all the tricks and the little ones just wanted to keep their eyes open and take in the world around them. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this special time!

I said that I would throw in a personal story or two along the way and I have been remiss. Life gets going a warp speed during the summer with weddings and portrait sessions. Yet, I have been trying very hard amidst all of the fabulous work, to take time out, put it all away and enjoy our family and friends too. Because, really, what is life all about?
There is nothing more important to me than our family and friends and the time we spend together!
Here is just a tiny taste of our recent summer adventures- A trip to the aquarium with our wonderful friends, and a glimpse into our daughter’s world as she is playing and our first family hike with our daughter on her own two feet for over 1 mile!! Sooo fun.
Thank you to all of those who make my world such a wonderful place to be. I love you so.

(Thank you trusty iphone for being there when I don’t have a real camera!!)

I hope that you are all taking time out of crazy schedules to spend some quality time with the people that are most important to you in life!!! Enjoy your summers!!!!!
I will be catching up with newborm sesions, family portraits and weddings soon…so stay tuned!
