Life leads you in circles…many speak of the 6 degrees of separation- and if you know me well it seems to be about 3 degrees of separation most of the time- which is fabulous!
I love how life is so interconnected.
2 years ago I walked into a birthday party for a then 2 year old… I looked up and said- John what are you doing here? He asked the same question of me. It is indeed a very small world!
I have know John since I was about 5 years old. He was my next door neighbor when I lived in Fort Collins as a kiddo and his sister was my best bud with whom I ran around the cul de sac, played soccer and took ballet classes…
I reconnected with John when I ran into him (and his sis) at CU where I attended college and then again at this 2 yr old’s birthday party years later.
The circles of life are amazing and wonderful.
So glad that they brought me around to you and your family again!

Thank you for spending the evening with me. It is so wonderful to be reconnected with you and your family! Best, Rachel
Check out these big blues!
I had a blast with this adorable family in City Park on a hot afternoon for our portrait session. Thank you for sharing the afternoon with me and for acting like fools-jumping, singing, squeaking… to get little “C” to show his bright smile to the camera. (Oh the things we do- anyone watching us had a real show!)

Enjoy all of the marvelous moments with your sweet boy! Best, Rachel
I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing these darling families recently. When the best friends from college (Julie & Marjorie) reunite now they bring their families too-what fun!

And I had to include this shot- I love it! It was a bit of a misfire…but happy accidents are always welcome- you never know what you’ll get!

Thanks for spending a lovely morning with me. I hope that you had tons of fun during your visit. Best, Rachel
With some families you instantly sense their awesome magnetism…
I had the best afternoon running around in the Colorado State University Oval and in Old Town Fort Collins with this darling family. And what could be better than ending the session with the best icecream in town at the Walrus?
Thank you for being so much fun to work with. I had a blast!
I constantly think about how lucky I am to be doing something I love as a career.
Part of what makes me so lucky is that I get to interact with the most amazing families and couples…they radiate with love.
Everytime I finish a shoot I truly feel blessed to have been invited to share time with each and every one of them.
This past Friday afternoon was no different. You may recognize this gorgeous family from our earlier indoor shoot. Finally the Colorado afternoon weather cleared and we were able to head outside and get some beautiful shots of this amazing family and gorgeous kiddos (look at their eyes!)!
Thank you for making me feel so lucky to be doing what I do.

(Note the four leaf clover behind Andrea’s ear…obviously lots of luck coming to this amazing family!!)
Thank you again for a great afternoon! Best, Rachel
Little “C” is going to have a lot of keepin’ up to do with his two older siblings!
I had the great joy of photographing this newborn a few days after his arrival into this world. He is well loved by big brother and sis (and Mom and Dad of course!). Thank you for inviting me into your moments and for letting me run around in the backyard with your sweeties.
Enjoy this time with your newest addition. Congrats!!

Typically, I love being able to get outside and run around for family photography session but since it was pouring rain outside, we were forced to have an inside shoot…and it was so much fun!
This darling family is so sweet and the kiddos are full of personality. Dad was being deployed again the next day (on a short training mission this time luckily) so I was so glad that we were able to get the session in while he was home.
The littlest member of the family was intended to be star of this shoot for her 6 month old portraits…but we had to capture everyone while we were at it!

Little “M” pulled out some of his favorite toys to show me.

And little “D” showed off her fabulous cheeks and darling personality.

She did get a bit upset when we tried the hood on…first she was a little startled, then she was not happy at all, and then she tried to pull herself together- I love this series.

I couldn’t help but keep snapping away- I love the expressions little ones have!

Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your wonderful family!
I had the great pleasure of photographing this beautiful Senior for an invitation to her Senior Violin Recital. Here are a few of my favorites.

And here is what we came up with for the invite.

Break a leg at the recital!
This sweet family has one more to celebrate this holiday season.
Their newest addition threatened to come early so we moved the maternity shoot up just in case…but low and behold she waited until the very end to make her arrival.
What a gorgeous growing family. Enjoy this time to revel in the newborn-ness and the excitement of a two year old at Christmas.

I hope that you all find time to revel in your families during this holiday season. I will be doing just that.
Wishing you all the best.
It has been a whirlwind wrapping up 2009. What a fabulous year it has been. I have had the greatest privilege of working with the most wonderful families & brides & grooms this year. I am so grateful for each and everyone of you.
As I am wrapping up 2009, I am finally catching up on a few sessions from last month. I am obviously drawn to black and white right now- maybe it’s the cold weather?
